For art schools, universities, and organizations abroad: I design, coordinate, and run study tours and summer schools that take your group into Tokyo and Japan’s art, music, and culture scenes.
Study tours in Tokyo & Japan, designed and run end-to-end
Tokyo is a city where art, music, tech, and subculture overlap at high density.
Planning a program without knowing how Japan works tends to run into a few things: researching and reaching the right places takes time, routes and timing end up unrealistic, and the cultural context doesn’t fully come across.
This service gives art schools, universities, and organizations abroad a program to experience and research Tokyo and Japan’s culture scene in three dimensions — designed, coordinated, and accompanied on the ground.
Why work with me
Deep in the local scene, with a cultural-sociology lens
10+ years in Tokyo, out regularly — galleries, clubs, underground parties, art fairs.
Japanese, raised in the Osaka–Kobe area, now based in Tokyo — an insider's access with an outsider's read on the city.
I studied cultural sociology, and I still enjoy every kind of culture across genres and countries, and I’ve traveled widely.
I’m good at connecting what’s happening on the ground to its cultural background — putting Tokyo and Japan’s particularities into words, and comparing them with other countries.
Real experience running study tours
I’ve supported program design, coordination, and on-site running for a Dutch art school’s summer school in Japan, more than once — introducing the Tokyo and Japan scenes to participants from around the world, and supporting everything from program planning to research and creative work.
Smooth project management, flexible on the day
About 10 years as a marketing manager at a tech company, always juggling many projects.
Strong at project management, stakeholder coordination, and scheduling.
I build routes and timing that flow well — the backbone of a comfortable trip.
